Doug Brin is an historical raconteur, lecturer, journalist and discussion facilitator. He has taught both social studies and ethics at the Dalton and Ethical Culture Schools and written on entertainment and politics for the New York Daily News.

Join our Candid Conversation with Dr. Rocio Salas-Whalen to learn about osteoporosis and what you can do to prevent it. In the United States, 44 million Americans are at risk for osteoporosis. Ten million already have it, however, it is preventable. Dr. Whalen will discuss realistic ways to help avoid this debilitating bone disease.

Dr. Salas-Whalen is a board-certified physician with broad experience across all facets of endocrinology, with a particular emphasis on obesity, diabetes and thyroid disorders. She believes that every patient is different and that effective care must be customized according to individual needs. Dr. Salas-Whalen is a clinical instructor at NYU Langone Hospital.
