Taking place in our beloved New York City in 1969, the police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a renowned gay bar, sparked outrage among patrons and allies who refused to tolerate discrimination. The subsequent protests ignited a new era of LGBTQ+ activism and advocacy.

The Court's ruling, declaring laws criminalizing homosexuality unconstitutional, was a significant and empowering moment, allowing millions to love without fear. Upholding LGBTQ+ Inclusivity with SAGECare Platinum Credential
Here at Inspir, we are proud to be a SAGECare Platinum credentialed provider. This achievement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing excellent care and support to the LGBTQ+ senior community. To earn this coveted credential, a minimum of 80% of Inspīr’s management and non-management staff completed training in LGBTQ+ aging cultural competency. The training encompassed education on historical and current LGBTQ+ struggles, training on proper terminology in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity, and specific strategies to address challenges faced by this demographic. This training has had a significant effect within Inspīr’s senior living community as we pursue our mission to foster a community abundant with inclusivity and support for everyone.
